Final Digipak

George Watkins

This is my final digipak made up of 4 different faces separated by a plain grey spine so that once the digipak is folded together it should like a CD case. To conclude on my final digipak it is quite clear I have used the same image for all 4 faces but of different colours, the reason I have done this is because I feel that it is simple but still looks good, the same image that appears on this digipak is also the same as the one on my magazine advert but of different colours, the reason I chose to use the same image was because I wanted to give the song/ album an identity or recognisable image which is why the same image has been used on both media products despite it differing slightly. Moving on to the back cover of my digipak which is the bottom left square, I have made the back cover of the digipak black and white to keep theme black and white theme associated with The 1975 and the indie genre. displayed on the back cover I have our record label in the bottom right corner for the same purpose as having it on the magazine advert, the promote our record label company, as well as this I have the list of all 17 songs on this album and also a bar code in the bottom left corner to give the work a digipak feel to it and make it seem as if you can actually buy it off the shelves.

As for the front cover of my digipak which is the bottom right red square I went for a very plain approach to keep the main focus on the band name and the album name as this is what I want the customers to see at first sight so black text on a light red background stands out for people to see, I chose red for the front cover as this colour links well with genre of the music video I believe as in the video there is a romance between a man and a woman and red is a colour often associated with romance and love. The top right cover is a plain green, this face will be the inside face that is next to face where the CD will sit, I decided to keep this face plain as I didn't want to over complicate the digipak or make it look scruffy by adding unnecessary features, however I could attach something to this face such as a slip of paper with information on it e.g. the list of songs on the CD which many CD's cases do have for example this one here;

The final cover I am yet to touch on is the one of which holds the CD on it, the CD will sit where the black circles are on the face, the reason I have added these black circles is to make it look like there a CD in the case as I want to show that the CD will have the image on it that it covers up from the background so the image in that face will look the same with and without the CD in it.
